Document sounds like an obligation.” -Jukka Male a documentary film about photographer Jukka Male doing his long lasting documentary projects in Poland and Balkan. A documentary about documentarism - what are the moments of truth? ”View on truth” follows the birth of Jukka Male’s documentary photographs and their transition into the world of media and art. Trough Male’s work we reflect more widely on the nature of documentary itself. As a photographer and a director I have had to ponder on the moment the camera and reality meet. I want to make visible that strange process, when life transforms into pictures. The film contemplates on the nature of documentary and comes to the conclusion that it can only be an illusion about reality. However, it does not deny the necessity and meaning of documentaries.
